Mama June is focusing on her life as a first-time wife now that she and Justin Stroud secretly married. The couple married on March 23 in the Wilkinson County Court in Georgia, in a ceremony presided by Judge Amanda Holder. Mama June Shannon has officially lost custody of her daughter Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson.
According to court documents acquired by Page Six, a judge in Georgia gave Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon exclusive custody of Honey Boo Boo, with Pumpkin deciding on visitation privileges. Mama June, who will be able to call the “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” star every day, will be responsible for paying Pumpkin $800 a month in child support until Honey Boo Boo, who is 16 years old, becomes 18.
Mama June’s earnings are revealed in court filings, which state that she gets around $25,000 each month, depending on “production and endorsements.” Mama June’s show had “not been renewed for a new season” at the time of the filing, so her sole “certain income is disability in the amount of $1,015.00 per month.”
The custody news was first reported by the US Sun. Mama June was arrested on drug possession charges with then-boyfriend Geno Doak in August 2019. After her arrest, Pumpkin was granted interim guardianship of Honey Boo Boo with approval from her father, Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson.
Pumpkin will have a lot on her plate now that she’s expecting twins. With husband Joshua Efird, she has a 10-month-old son Bentley and a 4-year-old daughter Ella. While the custody news was certainly a blow to her, the “From Not to Hot” star is focusing on her life as a first-time bride. The pair recently celebrated their wedding with a PDA-filled trip to Panama City, Fla., where they spent the entire day making out in a pool.
