Colton Haynes is best recognized from Teen Wolves and Arrow, but it has been long since he left the two series. He is now finally telling his side of the story and revealing why he left the MTV series Teen Wolf and The CW series Arrow.
After Colton quit Teen Wolf in 2012, there were reports that he did it due to a contract negotiation issue. However, in his new memoir titled “Miss Memory Lane,” he elaborated on the issue, where he claims he was not being paid as much as his co-stars.
Colton wrote via E! News, “The real truth was that they didn’t want to pay me the same amount as everyone else. Which wasn’t a lot to begin with by Hollywood standards, even though my working quote—the fee I would be paid to appear on anyone else’s show—was higher than most of the cast’s.”
Haynes also claimed that the team that represented him was also partially to blame for how things went downhill. He noted that he believes that he was not offered a justifiable salary since they didn’t like his team.
“It didn’t help that I was represented by a team of people who made the Teen Wolf production’s life a living hell. So in order to get back at my team, the production refused to pay me the standard salary,” he explained.
Haynes also went on to star in The Cw’s Arrow later on in his career where he played Roy Harper/Arsenal. he was in the show for eight seasons but left as the main star prior to the eighth season. Rumors began circulating that he left since his contract had come to an end but in his memoir, he claimed that he was going through a rough patch in his life and “couldn’t stand” working with one of his co-stars. He didn’t name the person.
Haynes explained. “I had walked away from my full-time job on Arrow at the beginning of the year, supposedly because my contract had ended. But it was really because I was too depressed and I couldn’t stand working with one of my cast mates.”
No matter how things ended for him, Haynes is all set to star in Teen Wolf: The Movie that is expected to premiere on Paramount+.
