Spider-Man: No Way Home is continuing to bring in big money for Marvel and Sony. The Tom Holland-starrer flick opened a gold case for Disney when it opened in theaters worldwide on December 17th, 2021. It turns out that the movie lost an important category to an HBO show.

Spider-Man: No Way Home was one of the nominees in the “Best Fight” category at the 2022 MTV Movie Awards. Fans were hoping the movie that brought together Holland, Andrew Garfield and Toby Maguire on the silver screen would bag the award, no contest.

Instead, what they witnessed was perhaps the biggest travesty to take place on an awards show since the infamous Will Smith-Chris Rock incident. Spider-Man: No Way Home lost to Euphoria in said category, as Cassie vs. Maddy from the hit HBO series took away the spotlight from the webslinger.

Fans were livid after Euphoria won the award and took to social media to express their disappointment. Many said they refused to recognize the legitimacy of MTV Awards. Check out some of the reactions below.
