Americans enjoy many late night programs, and Jimmy Kimmel has been a staple in many homes during that after primetime slot. CBS might need to prepare to ready a successor for Kimmel, but the ball is in his court.

Jimmy Kimmel’s contract with ABC ends in 2023. At this time, The Man Show alum is considering his options as his future is literally in his own hands and a big change is possible in the new several months.

Kimmel, who is 54, spoke to Variety’s Awards Circuit podcast recently. During that conversation, he admitted that there are times when he is uncertain how much longer he can do his daily late night talk show.

“I wish I knew I was gonna do. I have moments where I go, ‘I cannot do this anymore.’ And I have moments where I go, ‘What am I gonna do with my life if I’m not doing this anymore?’ It’s a very complicated thing. And there are practical considerations, and there are family and friend considerations and coworker considerations”

Jimmy Kimmel has been on television for decades, so losing a veteran in the entertainment world would leave a huge hole in late night television. He has also been through a lot as host of a late night program during some incredibly taxing years. Either way, Jimmy will be fine and we’ll be rooting for him.

Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News opened the door for a new opportunity for Jenkins. With a history in finance, he broke into the journalism game by writing on blogs and other freelance websites before branching into sports and entertainment news. Being in tune with pop culture doesn't mean it has to make sense, but he tries. Favorite bands include any group from Seattle who formed between 1991 and 1999. 5 Ozzfests under his belt and 12 Warped Tours, but his last concert was a bluegrass AC/DC cover band that was not 100% terrible.
