Will Smith received outrage after going on stage at the 2022 Oscars and slapping host Chris Rock in the face he made a joke about his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith. Following his highly-publicized Oscars fiasco, Will is reportedly planning a huge movie comeback.
The actor is apparently taking matters into his own hands with a self-produced sequel to his 2007 film, I Am Legend, under his company Westbrook Media, after being banned from attending the Academy Awards for ten years. An insider told The Sun, “The script is being written mentioning his character and as yet Will remains attached to the project.”
“The concept is still to be signed off by Warner Brothers, but there has been no indication that Will is off the project.
Obviously, he is the producer of the film and his production company is in charge while the development continues. And Will himself is undergoing therapy and taking time away from the limelight.”
The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air star would play his part as Robert Neville in the follow-up dystopian film, fighting to avert a zombie apocalypse in New York. The film, directed by Francis Lawrence, told the story of a scientist who was the last human survivor of a plague.
Before assaulting Oscars host Chris Rock, Smith confessed in an interview with David Letterman that he had a hallucinogenic drug-fueled vision that his career would be “destroyed.” Stay tuned to Thirsty for further updates.
