BTS is the arguably the biggest boyband to ever grace the Earth. This year commemorates the ninth anniversary of the band, which includes RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook. BTS has now decided to take a sabbatical after 9 years as a band.
BTS announced their break during their annual Festa dinner, which is part of their annual celebration of their founding. They talked about their future intentions and told fans that they need time to take a break and work on independent projects. The members reminisce on their successful journey together in the one-hour Festa video before discussing their aspirations to pursue individual projects.
While the band has accomplished tremendous things, RM believes that the individual members still need to grow and develop as individuals as solo musicians. J-Hope also said that they should spend more time apart to learn how to be one again.
I think we should spend some time apart to learn how to be one again. I hope you don’t see this as a negative thing, and see it as a healthy plan. I think BTS will become stronger that way.
The band went on to state that making the decision was difficult and that they were sorry for possibly disappointed their Army. “It’s not like we’re disbanding!” Suga optimistically remarked, attempting to sweeten the conversation. J-Hope and Suga, who have both produced solo mixtapes in the past, are expected to make solo albums, according to the members. Jungkook also revealed that he will release a solo album.
