The Wendy Williams Show was cancelled in February after its host spent the entire season on the shelf with various health issues. While guest hosts filled in, things just weren’t the same. On Friday, the series will officially come to an end after 13 years of syndication.

Wendy’s show will be replaced by The Sherri Shepherd Show. Wendy Williams has claimed that she will eventually be back on television. That would depend on her ability to overcome her medical problems, but fans are keeping their fingers crossed.

Deadline reported that the long-running daytime gabfest will air its final episode on Friday, June 17. Wendy will not be a part of the show. Producers have put together a retrospective video package with some of the series’ best moments, according to a spokesperson.

“The final original episode of The Wendy Williams Show will air on Friday, June 17th, with a video tribute to the iconic host. The series comes to an end after 13 successful years in syndication.”

The distributor of The Wendy Williams Show has left the door open for Wendy to return in the future if she recovers and is able and willing to do so. Sherri Shepherd will get all of Wendy’s local timeslots and production team in the interim. Time will tell if Wendy Williams ever makes it back.

The show has been an influential part of the daytime talk slate for well over a decade. Fans will be sad to see it go. There is always a chance that Wendy Williams could make a comeback in the future.
