Spiderman has always been a major part of our childhood. It has evolved through time, from games to movies. Spiderman has now officially joined Disney+ and left its previous Sony owners behind.
According to ITM, the Spider-Man universe is expanding inside the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the Sony Universe. However, the movie will finally be available on Disney+. Every Marvel fan had hoped that the popular Spider-Man films starring Tom Holland, Tobey Maguire, and Andrew Garfield will be available on Disney+.
It’s logical given that the majority of the Marvel Collection is available on the streaming service. Sony Pictures owns the distribution rights to Spider-Man. However, the films were dispersed over many platforms, including Netflix and Prime Video.
Now, on June 17th, Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, Tobey Maguire’s trilogy, and Andrew Garfield’s The Amazing Spider-Man franchise will join Disney+ in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Not only that, but Japanese Disney+ users will also receive Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018) and Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019).
“The Raimi Trilogy, ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 1 & 2’ and ‘Spider-Man Homecoming’ are being released on Disney+ on June 17 only in the U.K.”
“Disney+ Japan is not only getting The Raimi Trilogy, ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 1 & 2’ and ‘Spider-Man Homecoming’ but they are also getting “Spider-Man far from home ” and “into the spider-verse” as well on June 17th.”
Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) is not on this list since it will be re-released in theatres on September 2nd in an extended cut. However, North American Disney+ users are still unsure when they will be able to watch Spider-Man movies on Disney+. The Amazing Spider-Man (2012), starring Andrew Garfield, is the only Spidey film available on Netflix, with the others available on other streaming sites.
Nonetheless, with Disney+ acquiring the streaming rights to all Spider-Man films released in 2022 and onwards, it’s clear that upcoming films such as Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023) will call the Mouse House their future streaming home. To get the latest updates, keep an eye on Thirsty.
