Matthew McConaughey is one of the most decorated actors in all of Hollywood, having won several awards throughout his career. He also spoke about a very pressing issue at The White House recently. Following his impassioned address at the White House asking for gun control reform in the wake of the killing in his hometown of Uvalde, Texas, Matthew McConaughey attempted to get some rest and relaxation.
The 52-year-old Oscar winner was joined by his stunning wife Camila Alves for a sun-drenched vacation by the Mediterranean in Greece. Matthew dove into the sea off a rocky ledge in his red swim trunks. Camila looked on in her lovely blue swimsuit.
The charming pair, who have been married for almost ten years and have three children, appeared to be on cloud nine as they smiled their way through the breathtaking surroundings. Matthew tenderly helped Camila change her swimwear while handing her a towel at one point. Once again, the couple demonstrated that they are the ultimate relationship goals.
Following the killing of 19 children and two teachers at Robb Elementary in Uvalde by a lone gunman, Matthew became overcome with emotion as he made his case for more sensible gun restrictions on Capitol Hill. The Dallas Buyers’ Club star returned to Uvalde just days before the White House event to pay his condolences to the victims of the Robb Elementary school gun massacre.
The actor, whose mother was a teacher at a school a mile from the tragedy, met with school authorities and took selfies with workers, but made no public statements at the time. Despite the fact that McConaughey did not speak to the public during his visit, he was one of the first high-profile celebrities to issue a statement shortly after the tragedy.
