Mike Tyson was involved in an altercation on a JetBlue flight from San Francisco just a few months earlier. However, in a recent appearance, Mike opened up about what went down.
A man named Melvin Townsend approached Tyson in search of a photograph, according to the story. Tyson complied with the request, but Townsend eventually became belligerent and obnoxious. He even tossed a water bottle at the famed boxer at one point, which sparked the fight.
That’s when Tyson unleashed his fury on the man, leaving Townsend bloodied and battered. Tyson then stood up and exited the plane, never to return. Although it was a chaotic scene, several individuals went to take Tyson’s side.
In Tyson’s recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel’s show, he went in-depth on the incident. He was upset with the man, and he was also a tad high, as Tyson said. He eventually snapped, resulting in the beating.
“Hey listen, I’m usually good at these things. I was wrong, that should’ve never happened. That’s me back in my primitive child stages, I shouldn’t of done that, but I was just irritated, tired, high, and pissed off. Sh*t happens! I don’t wanna hurt nobody.”
For the time being, it’s unclear whether Townsend will file a lawsuit against Tyson. Townsend has hired a lawyer, but no legal consequences have been recorded as of yet. Stay tuned to Thirsty for more updates.
