Conor McGregor is undoubtedly one of the most popular MMA fighters in the history of the sport and is a huge draw for the UFC, garnering insane pay-per-view buys for every UFC event he headlines. On top of that, he is a very smart businessman as well.
Last year, it was revealed by Forbes Magazine that Conor McGregor has topped their list of the top-10 highest-paid athletes in 2021. McGregor had earned a total of $180 million over the last 12 months; most of which came from the recent sale of his majority stake in whiskey brand Proper No. Twelve to Proximo Spirits for $150 million.
The Notorious One also sold his majority share of Proper No.Twelve Irish Whiskey for a reported $600 million last year. While speaking during an interview, McGregor claimed he has an “unhealthy obsession” with spending money.
“I have an unhealthy obsession with spending money, but I have a healthy obsession with making it, so it’s all good!”
Conor McGregor was also mocked for being an Instagram fighter. Conor McGregor is expected to make his UFC return in July this year. We’ll have to see whether he can win his comeback fight or not.
