At the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards, the song was named Best Power Anthem. Now, in the year 2022, Lanez has released his own summer-themed track. On top of that, Tory Lanez shot an age-restricted music video for “City Boy Summer” in Megan Thee Stallion’s hometown of Houston.
J Prince Jr., a Houston native, makes an appearance in the “City Boy Summer” visuals. Lanez took to Twitter to announce his latest music video. The video undeniably took an extra personal shot at Megan Thee Stallion as it was shot in her hometown.

Given the two rappers’ continuing legal difficulties, some assume Tory Lanez used the title “City Boy Summer” and the Houston-set video to taunt Megan Thee Stallion. Lanez has been accused of adopting similar agitating techniques in the past by critics. Check out the tweet below.
