Jaylon Ferguson was a standout linebacker at Louisiana Tech, where his stellar college career earned him a shot in the National Football League. Jaylon was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the third round of the 2017 draft. Before his career could ever truly get started, Ferguson sadly passed away at the age of 26.
The Ravens announced Jaylon’s passing via social media. Ferguson had participated in all of the team’s offseason practices this year. He was set to make an impact in Baltimore this season.
No reason for Jaylon Ferguson’s death has been reported. There were no known signs of outwardly-visible health problems. The Ravens remembered him with a brief statement.
“We are profoundly saddened by the tragic passing of Jaylon Ferguson. He was a kind, respectful young man with a big smile and infectious personality. We express our heartfelt condolences to Jaylon’s family and friends as we mourn a life lost much too soon.”
During his college days, Jaylon Ferguson was a force of nature. He became known as “Sack Daddy” at Louisiana Tech. There, he set a Football Bowl Subdivision record with 45 career sacks.
