Chris Brown visited Drink Champs to promote his new album Breezy, which is scheduled to be released on Friday. During that appearance, the R&B singer has claimed that Diddy rejected signing him early in his career.
N.O.R.E exclaimed in shock as Chris said, “The funniest part, a lot of people don’t know this, but Diddy turned me down.” Chris Brown had to elaborate on the subject, because there are no hard feelings now.
“It’s love now. This is family, my brother now…Imma keep it 100. I was 12 at this time, this is before I went to the Def Jam shit. It was me and one of my production manager’s sons named TJ, he’s my brother to this day, but me and him were like a group-”
“What was the name of y’all group?” N.O.R.E. chimed in. Breezy responded, “Man, we didn’t have no name.” “This is why he ain’t sign you,” N.O.R.E. concluded. “Y’all ain’t have your shit together, Chris.”
The most recent trailer for the upcoming episode follows one in which Chris addressed rumors that Bow Wow was originally going to replace Julez Santana on his 2005 hit “Run It!” Breezy pointed out that Bow Wow was lying when he said he was initially under consideration for the hit during his Verzuz against Soulja Boy.
“Shad is my brother man, but Shad be cappin’ sometimes, but I love Shad,” Chris said. “So Bow right? He definitely was the first person who said, ‘Look you wanna get on tour? I’m gonna show you how to do that.’ It was like he was not a hater…Bow was like the first one. When we did ‘Run It!’ in Hit Factory in Miami I was like 14 and he was like, ‘Well who do you wanna feature?’ and I was like, ‘Juelz Santana.’”
Revolt TV will premiere Chris Brown’s episode of Drink Champs on Thursday. We’ll have to see what other things he reveals when the whole episode drops. Stay tuned to Thirsty for more updates.
