Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s trial took over the world for the past couple of months, and it is not hard to see why. It opened up a can of worms and exposed Amber Heard for the toxic person that she is. There is also a good reason why Johnny Depp still has to pay Heard money as well.
According to the New York Post, after 21 days, the case will move to the Court of Appeals of Virginia. Then, both parties will have 30 days to file a notice of appeal. Amber Heard appealing Johnny Depp will also be a very costly affair. We’ll keep you updated on this ongoing story.
The trial finally came to an end as the jury, as expected, finally ruled in Depp’s favor on Wednesday, June 1st. Amber Heard couldn’t believe the outcome, as the whole world celebrated her defeat.
Despite the win, Johnny Depp still has to pay Amber Heard $2 million. According to Hollywood Life, as lawyers for both sides couldn’t reach some kind of agreement, Amber will have to pay Johnny $10.35 million in damages, while Johnny owes Heard $2 million.
Johnny owes Amber because she counter-sued him and one of his attorneys, Adam Waldman, for defamation when he described her accusations of abuse as a hoax.
