Halsey Responds To Fans Leaving Concert After Her Pro-Choice Announcement

Halsey is one of the biggest pop acts in the industry. She is also a proud and caring mother. Several concertgoers at a Halsey performance last weekend in Phoenix reportedly left when the singer began expressing her pro-choice opinions.

The “Without Me” singer voiced her opinion between songs about the right to an abortion. According to the Los Angeles Times and Billboard, her views prompted a number of people to leave the concert immediately. In her address, Halsey claimed that she had once undergone an abortion that “saved” her life.

Here in Arizona, you guys got to promise me that you’re gonna do that work so that the person to the left of you and to the right of you has that right for the rest of their lives. If you don’t like it, you can go home right now — I don’t care.

One concertgoer later tweeted, “THE AMOUNT OF PEOPLE WHO JUST WALKED OUT OF THE HALSEY CONCERT AFTER NIGHTMARE WHEN SHE SPOKE ABOUT ABORTION WAS SICKENING.” She apparently also led fans in a “my body, my choice” chant. Halsey, however, didn’t appear discouraged. She re-tweeted the post to clap back at her haters.

She has a 1-year-old child with her partner, Alev Aydin. The musician has previously advocated strongly for abortion rights. Halsey also mentioned in her statement that she once underwent an abortion that “saved” her life, and that she battled infertility before the birth of her child. Check out the tweet below.
