Britney Spears is continuing to discover exactly who she is after the end of her long conservatorship. One of the most dramatic accusations made against her former conservator, Jamie Spears, is that he bugged his daughter’s bedroom. However, Jamie categorically rejected the accusation.
Jamie formally stated his position in a document that TMZ was able to get in connection with the current legal dispute over alleged wrongdoings under Britney Spears’ 13-year conservatorship. He continued by saying that he was unaware of any such gadget being used in his daughter’s bedroom.
I am informed of the allegation by Britney’s counsel that a listening device or ‘bug’ was placed [in] her bedroom as surveillance during the Conservatorship. This allegation is false. I never conducted or authorized any surveillance of Britney’s bedroom at any time, including during the conservatorship.
A former employee of Black Box Security, the firm Jamie hired, Alex Vlasov was mentioned in the New York Times documentary regarding Britney’s conservatorship. He insisted that such a spying gadget had been covertly installed in her bedroom, purportedly to listen in on private discussions.
Jamie has come under heavy fire from Britney’s attorney, Mathew Rosengart, for allegedly infringing on his client’s civil rights and privacy. Both Jamie and Britney want to cross-examine the other, but neither has so far agreed to give a deposition. Stay tuned to get latest updates on this story.
