Donald Trump Threatened Trade War Against Sweden If They Didn’t Release ASAP Rocky

A$AP Rocky got involved in a fight in the streets of Sweden and was later detained in Europe. Before former President Donald Trump became involved, the arrest made global headlines.

It is now well known that Kanye West and Kim Kardashian were vital in alerting Trump’s administration to the situation. But it appears that Trump was prepared to start a war for Rocky’s release.

According to TMZ, Trump allegedly threatened Sweden’s Justice Minister with a trade war if the European nation did not free A$AP Rocky from their prison. According to the justice minister, they got a call from Trump, who threatened to put trade restrictions on Sweden. However, neither he nor Rocky got benefited from that.

According to the justice minister, Trump allegedly used typical bullying strategies to secure Rocky’s freedom. He also stated that their reaction to Trump’s threats was critical to preserving democracy.

“If you can try and do something like this against Sweden, what will you then try and do to slightly weaker countries that don’t have the European Union behind them?”

Rocky was apprehended in Sweden for assault after he and his bodyguards got into a fight with two men. Rocky and company claimed they were harassed and shared video evidence to support their claim of self-defense. Rocky received a suspended sentence and was released from custody.
