There has been a long-running feud between Jennifer Lopez and Dannii Minogue in the music industry, and it seems like it will never end. However, they have been playing the accusing game with each other for a while already. Recently, Jennifer Lopez has been accused of acting like a diva by Dannii Minogue, but she disputes the charge in a documentary.
For years, Jennifer Lopez has been linked to diva behavior, and numerous tales have been published about some of the absurd demands she has made. Now, during her podcast The 90s with Dannii Minogue, singer Dannii Minogue shared a story about Jennifer that might not be all that shocking.
Jennifer once demanded that her whole dressing area, including the walls and furnishings, be decked in all-white before she agreed to appear on a television program. But instead of finding the demands absurd or inconvenient, Dannii found amusement in the situation, wondering how Jennifer had managed to avoid getting all the white furniture dirty. She fretted particularly about Jen’s body makeup smearing the white couch.
“All I could think was, ‘Girlfriend is covered head to toe in body makeup. How do you sit on a white couch?’”
The progression of Jennifer Lopez’s career is chronicled in the new documentary Halftime, which centers on preparing for the lead-up to her Super Bowl halftime performance with Shakira. A portion of the documentary was devoted to how Jennifer was made fun of at the beginning of her career and how many rumors about her purported “diva” conduct emerged.
A flight attendant reported Jennifer’s alleged treatment of service personnel in a 2012 issue of Star magazine, including her decision to avoid even speaking to them. He spoke to the publication about Jennifer.
“What can I get you to drink? But Jennifer refused to even acknowledge me. She turned her head away and told her personal assistant, ‘Please tell him I’d like a Diet Coke and lime.’ She wouldn’t even look at me. It was sad, she seems so sweet in her movies.”
“She doesn’t speak to salespeople, restaurant or hotel staff – or flight attendants. She only talks through her assistants.”
Jennifer said to The Hollywood Reporter that women are frequently persuaded they need to behave, which may be why she has given the unjustly pejorative moniker “diva.” Jennifer Lopez stated to GQ in 2019 that she does not receive the same privileges as everyone else.
“I’ve always been fascinated by how much more well-behaved we have to be than men. I did get a moniker of being a diva, which I don’t deserve.”
“Because I was Latin, and I was a woman, and I was Puerto Rican, and they were not giving me the same pass that they gave everybody else at certain times.”
Danni Minogue had a lot to say about JLo, but Lopez has not responded yet. Only time will tell if Jennifer Lopez has any response at all. For additional information on Jennifer, stay tuned to Thirsty for updates.
