Kanye West is always making news for one thing or another. The legendary rapper recently linked up with Cardi B for her sophomore album. In a new track released by Cardi, Kanye took some heavy shots at the unwanted media attention he receives.
Cardi dropped her entry for “song of the summer” on July 1, a track featuring verses from none other than Lil Durk and Kanye West. While fans had to wait for the third verse to get to Ye, the Chicago native got personal on the bumpy track, produced by BanBwoi and Tay Keith.
Kanye rapped in the song, “I’m just sayin’ now I start to get used to the pain,” as he seemingly referenced his divorce from ex-wife, Kim Kardashian. He then added some humor to the track as he rapped, “‘Til one day I say, “f*ck it”, brought my masseuse on the plane.” He also dropped a line about his four kids with Kim, North, 9, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm,
Pinky swear you ain’t scared when you heard Ye appear
I’ma hop up out the bushes, me and Pusha kill your man
I’m just sayin’, now I start to get used to the pain
‘Til one day I said, “F*ck it,” brought my masseuse on the plane
Why you playin’? Reach in the gang, lose a hand
“Where you stand?
Where was Jay at? Where was them at?
Where you done that? Where you live at?”
Another headline, “Where your head at?”
“Nigga, go home, where your kids at?”
They be on my nerve, they be on my nerve, mm-mm
When we lost Virg’, I was on the verge, mm-mm
I just hit the Louis store, I had to splurge, mm-mm
We just made a silent movie with no words, mm
Guess who toppin’ now? Uh, God got me now, uh
Guess who at Balenciaga? Guess who shoppin’ now? Uh
They can’t stop me now, uh, I been poppin’ out, uh
Cardi, where your sister at? I need Henny now, mm-mm
I flew in and out, hundred-fifty-thou’, mm-mm
Now, even when they shout, gotta shout me out
So ahead, go ahead, mm-mm
Not even close, all of y’all is number two
Ye has had no shortage of said headlines pertaining to his split and his kids. Additionally, the rapper stirred up some serious controversy around Chicago’s fourth birthday party in January when he alleged that he was not invited but was eventually given the address by Tristan Thompson.
Meanwhile, “Hot Sh*t” might finally jumpstart the rollout of Cardi’s eagerly-anticipated follow-up to 2018’s Invasion of Privacy. The record established Cardi B as one of the biggest rap stars of her generation, You can check it out below. Stay tuned to Thirsty.
