The Fugees made a name for themselves as being one of the most influential and iconic hip-hop groups in the history of the industry. Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean and Pras Michel helped shape the group into what it was. They also had a mini reunion recently.
Wyclef Jean was one of many performers at the 2022 Essence Fest in New Orleans on Friday night. During his set, he gave fans a huge hit of nostalgia, as he brought out Lauryn Hill, which shocked fans.
The veterans did a live rendition of “Killing Me Softly” from the group’s critically acclaimed sophomore album The Score as well as “Ready Or Not,” “How Many Mics” and “Fu-Gee-La.”
This performance comes half a year since the Fugees canceled The Scores’ 25th-anniversary reunion tour due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. This was certainly a wonderful moment that fans will remember forever.
