Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is getting fans hyped up about his latest starring role. The Rock will portray ‘Black Adam’ in the latest entry in the DC Universe. Johnson has been attached to the role of Warner Bros./DC Films’ Black Adam for nearly a decade. Following a nixed cameo in Shazam! and the abandonment of the Snyder-Verse, his solo film will finally release this year.
Johnson’s huge social media presence has always been instrumental in the marketing of his films. That said, he seems to be even more active regarding Black Adam, from admiring fan art to sharing posts about Black Adam action figures. Meanwhile, the first Black Adam trailer shows its titular character fighting the Justice Society of America, including Pierce Brosnan’s Dr. Fate, Noah Centineo’s Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell’s Cyclone, and Aldis Hodge’s Hawkman.
Recently, Dwayne took to social media to share his reaction to the custom paint job of a fan’s Jeep inspired by his upcoming film. He posed a tweet which shows off @srtflex’s paint job and/or decals, which utilize the film’s official art created by famed internet artist BossLogic.
As an Egyptian slave who is granted superpowers by the ancient wizard Shazam, Black Adam is one of the most powerful characters in DC lore. In the comics, Black Adam begins with the intention of freeing those enslaved. However, his hunger for power turns him into a tyrant, which leads to him becoming the arch-nemesis of the superhero Shazam. Additionally, Johnson recently appeared to tease Black Adam may have a Superman cameo.
Suffice to say, he’s willing to do whatever it takes for what could be a career-defining movie and one worth purchasing a custom Jeep when it releases in theaters on October 21st, 2022. We will have to wait and see how things go at the box office, but anyone who knows his career is betting on Dwayne Johnson.
