Jake Paul vs. Tommy Fury has become a dream fight at this point. The bout has been talked about since last year. The bout between Jake Paul and Tommy Fury has been postponed once more; the Problem Child claims he has found a replacement opponent for his August 6th event and accuses TNT of fleeing into hiding.
Jake Paul recently claimed Tommy Fury ‘went into hiding’ after their fight was nixed According to TMZ, Tommy Fury issued a statement regarding the fight. The situation Tommy got himself in is something he and his team never anticipated. Despite Paul’s assertion, Fury insisted that once his legal situation is handled, the fight will still go forward.
I’m gutted and disappointed in regards to the issues I have faced with entry into the USA. This is something that myself or my team could have never anticipated happening. This situation has been left with my lawyers as being denied entry to a country is obviously a very serious issue and it needs to subsequently be resolved. I want to clarify that I will fight in a neutral country that both parties can enter. This can be any time, any place, any where.
Due to his family’s connections to suspected crime lord Daniel Kinahan, Fury was originally rumored to have been denied entry to the United States for the fight news conference in New York City last week. According to reports, everyone associated with Kinahan or his MTK Global boxing organization has been denied entry into the United States as authorities look for any leads on his location.
Jake, on the other hand, doesn’t buy the justification that Tommy simply needed to visit the embassy to obtain a visa but was delaying doing so. There are rumors that Paul will compete against Hasim Rahman Jr., the son of the late boxing champion Hasim Rahman, who is 12-1, instead of Tommy Fury.
We hope Tommy Fury delivers both on getting his visa and giving a tremendous performance in the scheduled bout. For more updates, keep checking back with Thirsty!
