The Undertaker’s contributions to pro wrestling will live on forever. His influence has even extended to the MMA world for a long time. The Deadman received a special focus at UFC 276, on the same night as Money in the Bank. Vince McMahon also really liked Israel Adesanya’s tribute to The Undertaker.

As previously reported, Adesanya defended his middleweight title against Jared Cannonier at UFC 276. Before the fight, he paid tribute to The Undertaker by coming out to The Deadman’s entrance theme while wearing his iconic hat and carrying an urn. Adesanya also had Cannonier’s name engraved on that urn.

While speaking on The Pat McAfee Show, Pat McAfee talked about Vince McMahon’s reaction to Israel Adesanya’s tribute to The Undertaker. McAfee stated that McMahon popped big for it.

“I’m sitting there and the obvious question is ‘Did you guys know this was coming? Did we just so happen to be here when one of these things happened?’ I don’t think they knew that was coming. I’m not saying they were upset about it though, I think they loved that it was happening.

At one point I actually looked at Vince and was like ‘Hey, you should think about f**king doing this, seems like a pretty cool thing,’ got a big pop out of him. I guess [Israel Adesanya] is a big WWE fan, we were honored to be over there and got a chance to sit directly behind his corner.”

Israel Adesanya previously stated that the tribute also made sense to him. He also plans on going to the WWE eventually. We’ll have to see whether he will make his way to WWE someday or not. Either way, Adesanya sure made quite an impression on Vince McMahon.
