Chris Hemsworth plays Thor, the God of Thunder. Hemsworth has reprised the Marvel role on multiple occasions since 2011, delivering fantastic screen acting to legitimize the character. However, the 38-year-old’s brother Liam came close to landing the role of Thor. He confirms that he would never consider crossing paths with his sibling.

Chris told MENSXP that his younger brother nearly got the role as Thor. Nevertheless, he never thought he would’ve gone against his sibling. In the end, history has told that the MCU wouldn’t be the same without Chris Hemsworth in the role.

“He was one of the first people who got right down to the wire on getting the part so I don’t know I could cross paths with him. That will be fun.”

Marvel didn’t cast Liam because he was too young. As a result, Chris took advantage of the opportunity and, after months of preparation for the enormous role. That doesn’t mean he thought he did a stellar job, “I think my audition sucked,” he told the outlet as he continued.

“They were like, ‘Look, he’s great, but he’s a bit young.’ My manager then said, ‘Well, he does have an older brother,’ which was me. I came back in, re-auditioned a few times, and just had a different attitude. Maybe I had a little more sort of motivation that my little brother got a look in and I hadn’t. I also had done a couple of films in between those two auditions, so I had a bit more experience and confidence in what I was going to do.”

The instant decision to cast Chris Hemsworth as Thor was well received. He has performed admirably as an actor in films such as Thor: Love and Thunder, Thor: The Dark World, and Avengers: Endgame. Apart from his other roles, Chris’s best and most notable role that he actively represents is Thor.
