The Weeknd’s debut stadium gig in Toronto has been rescheduled due to a phone and Internet outage north of the border. The event initially was set to take place at Rogers Centre, formerly known as the Sky Dome, Friday night in Toronto.

In an Instagram post, the singer expressed how heartbroken and crushed he is due to the condition under which he had to postpone his show. The entire situation is out of his control, but he says he tried his best to have the show go on. Unfortunately, it didn’t work.

Rogers Communications is a leading telecommunications company in Canada. The company is experiencing a severe internet outage, affecting millions of internet subscribers. It has effectively rendered wireless communications impossible.

Fans in Toronto were eagerly waiting to see the 32-year-old perform, but due to the recent developments, they’ll have to do a bit more. The Weeknd is a fantastic performer, and there’s no doubt he’ll put on an even incredible show when things are right in Toronto.
