Elon Musk spent months trying to purchase Twitter, only for the deal to go out with a whimper. Musk has decided to try and back out of the purchase after he didn’t agree with some data about the number of fake users and bots provided to him by the company. Now, former President Donald Trump is basking in his glory.
Trump didn’t explain exactly why, but he recently gloated on his Truth Social platform about the collapse of the deal. Truth is believed to have around 513,000 active users. Twitter reaches 217 million members a day.
Donald Trump took to his failing social media platform to celebrate as if Truth put Twitter out of business. Trump sees Truth as an alternative to Twitter. Despite Elon Musk backing out of the deal, Twitter still dwarfs Truth Social in user base, revenue, and popularity.

Twitter is still committed to closing its deal with Elon Musk. They plan to take him to court for breaching his purchase agreement. Musk believes Twitter already did the same on their end.
Donald Trump’s strange victory lap was essentially just a promotion for his own site. Unfortunately for him, he wasn’t able to do so on Twitter, where people might actually see it, because he is banned. Speaking to the echo chamber might get his most ardent supporters fired up, but Donald has a long way to go before he can even be mentioned in the same breath as Twitter.
