Reality television star Jen Shah pleaded guilty of allegedly scamming hundreds of people out of money through a widespread telemarketing scheme. Her arrest was filmed earlier last year and aired on season 2 of “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.” Now, Shah’s attorney has revealed why Shah decided to plead guilty.
Speaking to Page Six, Shah’s attorney said that the reality TV star has “accepted full responsibilities of her actions.” Shah originally told her “Real Housewives” castmates that she would fight the plea deal. However, it appears Shah may’ve had a change of heart.
Jen pled guilty because she wants to pay her debt to society and put this ordeal behind her and her family.
Ms. Shah is a good woman who crossed a line. She accepts full responsibility for her actions and deeply apologizes to all who have been harmed.
It was reported that Shah could face up to 50 years in prison because of her actions. Her sentencing is currently set for November. We’ll make sure to follow this story as it updates. Real Housewives of Salt Lake City fans will certainly want to keep their eye on this one.
