Johnny Depp seems to have started his lucky streak after winning the Amber Heard trial. The star is all set to play King Louis XV in ‘La Favorite’, and he just settled a case right before it got to trial.
Deadline reports that Depp had an assault and battery case lodged against him from City of Lies’ location manager Gregg “Rocky” Brooks. The case was filed in 2018, and the trial for it was scheduled to start in two weeks. However, Johnny Depp has settled it right before it began.
Arbella Azizian, Brooks’ lawyer, filed a document in Los Angeles Superior Court stating that the two parties have come to a settlement. Depp is apparently paying an unspecified sum of money to Brooks, as the terms of the settlement are still in the dark.
The settlement agreement conditions dismissal of this matter on the satisfactory completion of specified terms that are not to be performed within 45 days of the date of the settlement. A request for dismissal will be filed no later than 1/5/2023. Dismissal After Settlement is scheduled for 02/16/2023.
Johnny Depp has been having it good ever since he won the defamation case against Amber Heard. The case was centered around the damage Heard did to Johnny Depp’s public image and career after penning an OP-ed in The Washington Post. The opinion piece was titled “the public face of domestic abuse.”
