Jake Paul tried as hard as he could to save his fight with Tommy Fury, which was destined to fail from the start. After Fury had problems getting into the United States, Jake decided to move on. He also revealed why he tried so hard for the fight.
After a lot of back and forth, it was finally decided that Jake Paul will square off against Hasim Rahman Jr on August 6th this year at Madison Square Garden. However, that does not mean Paul won’t fight Fury in the future.
While speaking to Ariel Helwani on the MMA Hour, Jake Paul talked about his failed fight with Tommy Fury. The Problem Child explained why he tried so hard for the fight.
“I believe exactly what his (Tommy Fury) dad said. I believe that he was out of shape and his dad was like, ‘don’t take this fight right now.’ That’s what I truly believe happened and that he blamed the whole entire thing and not being able to get in because of visa which doesn’t make any sense. Because a month earlier he was in Los Angeles for vacation, there’s proof of that, there’s pictures on his Instagram.
For me, I want to knock him the f*ck out and make him pay for all the sh*t that he’s done, and he put me through, and all the money that’s been lost trying to put on these events with him. He has to own up to that, he has to pay for that.”
Paul made it clear he still wants to face Tommy Fury in the future. We will have to wait and see how Jake Paul will fare against Hasim Rahman Jr next month first.
