James Franco’s Hollywood career has been riddled with some ups and downs for the past few years. He took a break from acting around four years ago. However, that hiatus seems to be coming to an end.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, The 44-year-old Oscar nominee has been cast as a fisherman in filmmaker Bille August’s coming-of-age period drama Me, You. It was also noted, that production will begin in September. The cast will also include Tom Hollander and Daisy Jacob.

The actor is thrilled to be working on this project, which he calls “phenomenal.” In a statement. Franco stated that he is a huge fan of the legendary director, and is excited to collaborate with him.

I am excited to board this phenomenal project and to be working with the legendary Bille August. I’m a huge fan of his work, and Me, You is a truly brilliant script.

Franco was accused of sexually inappropriate behavior by several women back in 2018. One of the accusers even claimed that The Pineapple Express actor abused his position of power in exchange for offering women opportunities. That lawsuit was finally sorted out in 2021 when Franco and associated entities agreed to pay $2,235,000 in damages to the victims.

Franco has also scored a role in the upcoming action movie Mace. This truly marks the end of their hiatus for him. Hopefully, the actor manages to stay out of controversies with this new start.
