UFC Welterweight Champion Kamaru Usman is a household name in the world of MMA right now. Fans and professionals alike consider him the pound-for-pound world’s best fighter for a good reason. Usman also wants a boxing match with Canelo Alvarez.
Usman made his debut in MMA back in 2012 against David Glover, with the fight taking place in the Resurrection Fighting Alliance 5. Usman would get a second-round TKO win in the fight.
For quite a long time now, fans have been wondering whether Kamaru Usman will ever face boxing sensation Canelo Alvarez. Usman even explained how a fight with Alvarez will be different from Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather.
While speaking to TMZ Sports, Kamaru Usman made it clear that he is still determined to square off against Canelo Alvarez somewhere down the line.
“It’s never been done, pound-for-pound versus pound-for-pound. And, they’re significantly close in weight classes to be able to do it — why not?!
I don’t think there’s going to be anyone in the world who’s not watching that fight.”
Fans are waiting with bated breath when it comes to Kamaru Usman duking it out with Canelo Alvarez. We will have to wait and see whether the fight will happen in the future or not.
