Mandy Moore had a lot of fans rooting for her to eventually get an Emmy for her performance in ‘This Is Us.’ However, they faced a lot of disappointment after finding out that the star didn’t even get a nomination. Moore also shares their disappointment, and he reacted to the Emmy snub.
Moore took to Instagram in order to post stories about the snub. She played the heartfelt character of Rebecca Pearson in This Is Us. All eyes were set on her securing the nomination in the Lead Drama Actress category.
This Is Us secured an Emmy nomination in one category, however. The show’s final season received a nomination for the Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics category. As luck would have it, Moore’s husband Taylor Goldsmith along with composer Siddhartha Khosla would get it if they win. The nomination comes for their song “The Forever Now.”
Moore wrote in her Instagram story that she wished the show received recognition for “its’s finest hour.” She also applauded creator Dan Fogelman and director Ken Olin for their efforts. She also congratulated her husband and Khosla for their nomination.
So unendingly proud of @siddkhoslamusic and @taylordawesgoldsmith for getting an Emmy nom for their song ‘Forever Now’ on our final season of #ThisIsUs.
Do I wish our show was recognized in what I think was its finest hour? Sure. And [creator] Dan Fogelman’s brilliant writing for 6 seasons (hello THE TRAIN)? @kenolin1’s impeccable direction? Our insanely, wildly talented cast and crew? Yah. That’s an incredible legacy to be a part of. I will be grateful forever.
This Is Us has been an emotionally impactful journey for millions of fans. Moore has played the mother of triplets Kevin played by Justin Hartley, Kate played by Chrissy Metz and Randall played by Sterling K. Brown. Her performance was nothing short of spectacular, and fans would’ve felt a lot better had she received a nod from the Emmys.
