NASA’s James Webb Telescope has been producing some stunning views of the farthest reaches of outer space. New images of worlds billions of light-years away are now available at the click of a mouse. Pat McAfee thinks it’s a total game-changer for stoners everywhere.
On Tuesday, new pictures were released of the Southern Ring planetary nebula and its two stars. The images are some of the clearest yet of such a far-away place. Many are the first of their kind.
Former NFL star turned WWE commentator and podcaster Pat McAfee was taken aback by the new photos. The SmackDown color man posted a comparison between the old Hubble Space Telescope and the same location taken by Webb. The increase in detail is unbelievable.
“@NASAWebb’s abaht to change the stoner’s “What’s that?” While looking at the sky” game.”
Five additional galaxies can be seen in the breathtaking pictures. They are known as “Stephan’s Quintet.” NASA describes them as colliding galaxies that are pulling and stretching each other via a gravitational dance.
You can check out some of the incredible pictures below. The average person may not be able to even comprehend what they’re looking at. Even still, it’s incredibly cool to be able to see such far-off distances.
