Q’orianka Kilcher found her biggest fame as an actress on the hit Paramount series, “Yellowstone.” She played Angela Blue Thunder in a recurring role on the show. Despite having a prominent and very public job, Kilcher has allegedly been milking the system in California for years.
TMZ reports that Q’orianka Kilcher has been charged with insurance fraud. Officials believe she collected disability insurance for over two years while still working. The benefits amounted to tens of thousands of dollars.
The California Department of Insurance says Kilcher started making claims in 2019. She pulled in nearly $100,000 in disability payments during that time. She allegedly was suffering from a neck and shoulder injury she suffered in 2018 while filming ‘Dora and the Lost City of Gold.’
Q’orianka Kilcher received treatment for the injury briefly in 2018. After stopping for a while, she returned and told her doctor the pain was back. Kilcher said the injury prevented her from working.
In reality, Q’orianka was working right before she spoke to her doctor about the returning pains. She was filming Yellowstone between July and October of 2019. She started receiving benefits just five days after filming was completed.
The alleged fraud continued until September of 2021. Kilcher received payments totaling $96,838. She turned herself in and was arraigned on the charges in May. Time will tell whether the alleged scheme lands her behind bars.
