Cardi B gave birth to her first child, Kulture, back in 2018. Her little girl recently celebrated her fourth birthday. Since becoming a mom, Cardi has had to deal with plenty of weird behavior from fans, but she has been nothing if not a proud mom.
Kulture has always been well taken care of. Despite that, she has a very busy mother. Many celebrities opt to hire a nanny to take care of the day-to-day parenting duties, but Cardi B wasn’t interested in taking that route.
In a recent interview with Vogue Singapore, Cardi explained why she chose not to hire a nanny. Originally, she wanted to bring in some domestic help. After some consideration, Cardi B decided she couldn’t trust anyone but herself to raise Kulture.
“When the baby got here, I couldn’t even think about getting a nanny because I was afraid of anybody being around her besides my family.
There weren’t a lot of artists out there who had babies at the beginning of their career. I didn’t have an album out when I found out I was pregnant. Everybody was so nervous for my career and future, but I kept telling them, ‘It’s easy. Trust me, I’m going to have a nanny and she’s going to travel up and down with me. It’s not even going to be a hassle.”
Rather than bring in someone from the outside, Cardi B enlisted her parents for help. Together, their experience and her love for Kulture have been getting the job done. In a world where celebrities are often absentee parents, Cardi has taken on the role of both superstar performer and mom.
