Brendan Langley recently got into a major scuffle at the Newark Liberty International Airport. The former Denver Broncos wide receiver became involved in an altercation with a United Airlines employee. At the time, he was arrested and charged with simple assault.
Langley landed several hard punches, taking the United worker to the floor. Even MMA legend Chuck Liddell was impressed. Two months later, the charges against Brendan Langley were still unresolved.
Those charges have now been dropped, according to TMZ. Langley’s attorney told them that officials determined that the force he used was “reasonable and necessary.” Halim Dhanidina said she was satisfied with the court’s decision.
“We are grateful for the Court’s decision which puts an end to this ordeal that began nearly two months ago when Mr. Langley was assaulted then wrongfully arrested and charged for exercising his rights under the law.”
Brendan Langley said that he was only defending himself against the man. Many had their doubts given the fact that Brendan is a professional athlete. In the end, the court believed his side of the story.
Langley is currently signed with the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League. Now that his case is cleared up, he can focus on the gridiron once again. Perhaps his NFL dream will once again be realized one day.
