Boxing legend George Foreman created one of the most recognizable American cooking products with his George Foreman Grill. He also has racked up an impressive 76-5 boxing record and accumulated a net worth of approximately $300 million. Although Foreman has much to be proud of, a recent scandal might chip away at his legacy.
Sources have told TMZ that a lawsuit against Foreman is expected to be filed this week by two women who claimed the legendary boxer sexually assaulted them. The two women’s fathers apparently had a working relationship with Foreman decades ago. Foreman sent out a statement Wednesday denying the allegations.
Over the past six months, two women have been trying to extort millions of dollars each from me and my family. They are falsely claiming that I sexually abused them over 45 years ago in the 1970s.
I adamantly and categorically deny these allegations. The pride I take in my reputation means as much to me as my sports accomplishments, and I will not be intimidated by baseless threats and lies.
Sources stated that Foreman believes the allegations are part of “a coordinated extortion plot.” The suit says that Foreman allegedly assaulted the women in the 1970s. As more details come in, it’ll be interesting to see whether Foreman can fight his way out of this or if he’ll be boxed in a corner.
