Former WWE Superstar Paul Wight used to be known as Big Show in the WWE. He spent more than two decades there before he decided to take his skills elsewhere. He also confirmed that he is bringing ”Captain Insano” to AEW.
Wight eventually decided to take his skills elsewhere and made his way to AEW last year. Since then, he has been content working as part of the commentary team on AEW Dark: Elevation and occasionally competing
AEW previously filed a trademark for his “Captain Insano” character, which Wight played in the 1998 film Waterboy starring Adam Sandler. While speaking to Nick Hausman, Paul Wight confirmed that he will be bringing his “Captain Insano” character to AEW. He added that preparations are already being made.
“He’ll [Captain Insano] be back. The guy who wrote The Waterboy has approved. Tony Khan and I have secured the rights to Captain Insano. There’s already an outfit made, the whole nine yards. We’re doing a lot of prep work, and this will be my last hoorah so to speak.
Let’s be honest – I don’t think this character is going to be a killer going out there trying to beat Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship,” Wight said. “At this point, I think this character is just to have fun. We’ll see how it goes, but for me right now, this is just a chance to have fun with this character and be a bright spot on the show. We’ll see how I’m feeling, and we’ll see how everybody takes off with it.”
Paul Wight is more than happy where he is in AEW and that is what matters in the end. We will have to wait and see when Paul Wight will be bringing ”Captain Insano” to AEW, as fans would love to see it happen.
