Kevin Spacey is best known for starring roles in American Beauty, The Usual Suspects, Se7en and House Of Cards. Spacey was at the forefront of celebrities getting the #MeToo treatment at the height of its trend. The actor of American Beauty and House of Cards recently entered a not guilty plea to five sexual assault accusations during a hearing at London’s renowned Old Bailey court.
He will go on trial in June 2023. At a hearing presided over by Justice Mark Wall, the actor, who was using his true name of Kevin Spacey Fowler, was questioned about his identity and address before entering his plea. Spacey was formally charged by the Metropolitan Police in June with four counts of sexual assault and one allegation of causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual behavior without consent.
The alleged historical offences, which were committed against three men who are now in their 30s and 40s, are alleged to have occurred between 2005 and 2013 in London and the county of Gloucester. Since the claims initially surfaced, Spacey has defended his innocence. The judge has scheduled the trial on June 6, 2023, with a two- to three-week duration.
The case was postponed until June of next year, but the site has not yet been established. The judge also extended Spacey’s unconditional bail, which was granted last month. Nevertheless, depending on the court’s availability, it will probably take place either the Old Bailey or Southwark Crown Court.
Given that it has served as the venue for numerous homicides and other major criminal proceedings, The Old Bailey’s Court 1 is arguably the most famous court in the entire world. It has also appeared in a plethora of movies and TV programs. Stay tuned to Thirsty for the latest news and updates.
