Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is one of the biggest names in Hollywood. He is always working on a new project, whether it’s with his Seven Bucks Productions, as an actor, or even working to re-launch the XFL. When a celebrity is always in demand, sometimes they have to turn down golden opportunities.

In June, it was reported that Dwayne Johnson and Chris Rock were being looked at as potential hosts for the Emmy Awards. Rock allegedly turned down an informal offer he received. At the time, it was believed Johnson was still in the running to host the show.

In this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that The Rock turned down the gig. Given his incredibly busy schedule, he just couldn’t dedicate the time to host the event. The WWE legend was honored to even be considered for the job.

“Dwayne Johnson turned down hosting the Emmy Awards. When he was first asked, we were told it was unlikely he would do it because of his schedule. He then officially said that and said he was honored they asked him and it comes down to nothing but schedule.”

The Rock is one of Hollywood’s most charismatic characters. He would have been a great host for the Emmy Awards. Unfortunately, his schedule just didn’t line up this time.
