Jay-Z is one of the biggest rappers in the world. The legend has released many albums and countless hit singles, as well as a prolific career. It should come as no surprise that the star charges accordingly as well.
Joe Budden recently revealed how much Jay-Z charged him for a verse. While we can expect a high price, nothing can come close to how much Budden had to shell out for a feature from Jay-Z.
Budden apparently paid a heavy sum of $250,000 for doing a verse on the remixed version of his classic “Pump It Up.” The podcaster revealed this on an episode of FlipDaScript podcast. He also added that their issues weren’t the reason for the high charge.
I don’t think that was a big number, I think that was his number. That’s my number to rap on this new artist’s remix.’ It was just big in my world, but it wasn’t a big number.
Jay-Z recently revealed that he has never had an ask for a price in a recent interview with Kevin Hart. This completely goes against the account that Budden gave about Jay-Z’s charge. Budden’s own sophomore record didn’t see any activity after Jay-Z became the president of Def Jam records. However, “Pump It Up” still remains his biggest song, and a Jay-Z feature is priceless in any case.
