Jay-Z is one of the biggest rappers in the world. The legend has released many albums and countless hit singles, as well as a prolific career. Even though he previously acknowledged he declines numerous requests for collaborations, Jay-Z is agreeing to Jermaine Dupri’s request to sample a classic track, but with one condition.
JD is the producer of Drake’s duet Dvsn. Just recently, he shared a text exchange with his “Money Ain’t a Thang” partner, in which Hov gave his approval for the sample. After all, Jay-Z would not criticize the hustle. But he had some observations on the Dvsn track.
I just want a disclaimer that says
That I said
The song is wrong ! Haaaaa
And you’re good.
Jay thinks the song is more toxic than his 2001 breakup lament “Song Cry.” As a result, he wants the world to know he doesn’t agree with the message of dvsn’s song, “I Get Caught.” According to insiders with knowledge of the situation, “I Get Caught” actually samples “Song Cry.”
Dvsn is doing a great job of hyping the song, saying it’s on par with other emotional wrecks like Usher’s “Confessions Pt. II” and SZA’s “The Weekend,” but better. If dvsn is correct, “Caught” will generate a lot of sassy debate on social media and add cash to Hov’s bank account. Check out the Instagram posts below.
