Cody Rhodes shocked the wrestling world when he announced his departure from All Elite Wrestling. The American Nightmare had been with Tony Khan’s promotion since day one and was instrumental in laying the groundwork for it to grow.

Cody Rhodes left AEW and made his triumphant return to WWE at WrestleMania 38. The Grandson of a Plumber put on a clinic against Seth “Freakin” Rollins on the show of shows.

His extraordinary return was recognized in a big way as Cody was named the winner of the ESPY Award in the ‘Best WWE Moment’ category on Wednesday. Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Undertaker, Big E, and Bobby Lashley were also among the nominees.

Cody is currently recovering from the nasty pec injury he sustained hours before his Hell in a Cell match against Seth Rollins. The Monday Night Messiah said he had no clue about the extent of Cody’s injuries until he saw them with his own eyes.

Cody is advertised to appear on an episode of Raw in August. We’ll have to wait and see if The American Nightmare manages to shock the wrestling world once more. Keep reading Thirsty for more.
