The Rock Says His Daughter’s WWE Ring Name Is ‘Cool’

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is one of the most legendary performers in the history of WWE. Johnson is so charismatic that he is now one of Hollywood’s biggest leading men. Now, his daughter is getting into the business that started it all.

The Rock’s daughter is going by the name “Ava Raine” in WWE. She recently debuted at a non-televised event for the developmental NXT brand. Wrestling fans were furious that she was given what they perceive as a generic name.

Johnson spoke about his daughter’s new ring name last night while appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live. He said he’s very proud of her. He also thinks her new name is cool.

“Yes, very proud of her. Simone Johnson, my oldest daughter, the daughter I have with Dany [Garcia], she made her debut in WWE, their smaller federation, NXT. So she did so good. She went out there on the microphone. You’ve gotta be poised when you go out there. She has a cool wrestling name. It’s Ava Raine.

It comes from all different areas. Usually, it’s probably a mix. What she wanted to do, what she wanted to be called. Ultimately, what the powers that be want her to be called to as well. She’s the first fourth generation of pro wrestlers in WWE. I always like to say that name Ava Raine could mean a lot of things, but to me in my mind, it means she’s going to lay the smackdown on candy asses.”

Ava Rain should be making her debut on television shortly. Fans have high expectations given her fantastic pedigree. Time will tell if she can approach the success of her father, but The Rock is confident that she will be a success in WWE.
