Zack Snyder has had a bumpy right working in the DCEU, to say the least. The director started his journey with 2013’s Man of Steel. While the film works well on its own, Batman V Superman received a polarizing review both from fans and critics.
Snyder worked on the theatrical version of Justice League but left halfway through to deal with the demise of his daughter. Avengers Age of Ultron director Joss Whedon made his contrasting changes to the film. With the 2017 film opening to poor reviews, the Synder Cut campaign was born.
DC’s current Publisher and Chief Creative Officer Jim Lee talked about Snyder’s involvement with DCEU at San Diego Comic-Con. There is often published material based on in-film characters with the DCEU. It appears that DC comics isn’t working on anything related to Zack Snyder’s Justice League.
“[We only work] on the projects that are in development. And so, I think the ‘Snyder Cut’ was Zack’s vision realized, and it was a really satisfying story told, but there’s no plans for additional work on that material.”
Zack Snyder’s Justice League was a dream come true for fans, as it was the fruition of their campaign. However, Warner Media recently accused the campaign of being driven by bots.
Snyderverse apparently won’t be a thing, which was already clear given how he caught a lot of pressure from Warner Media at the time of the film’s release. There are still loose ends that have fans curious, like the dream sequence from BvS. However, Snyder has already talked about his future plans for a Justice League trilogy. Even though it’s out of the question, Snyder still had plenty of success with the Snyder Cut.
