Kanye West Breaks RIAA Record For Gold Certified Singles

“Everything We Need” is the song that helped Ye make history. The single was certified gold by the RIAA on Wednesday. That makes 85 gold singles for Kanye West.

According to Chart Data, Kanye is the first artist in history to earn 85 certified gold singles as a lead artist. When one considers the amount of music that is released every day, it’s hard to believe. Ye’s achievement is one of those records that nobody to this point in the history of RIAA certifications has achieved.

Ye has accumulated 26 gold and platinum certifications in 2022 alone. That would be a legendary career for most artists. Kanye did it in seven months.

The hot sales numbers for Kanye West came on the heels of the recently-released Jeen-Yuhs docuseries. The Netflix series told Kanye’s life story through a mountain of archival footage. Kanye has also been in the headlines frequently because of his ongoing divorce from Kim Kardashian.

2022 has been the perfect firestorm of success for Kanye West. Even with some bad publicity, he’s been on a major hot streak. Now, he holds a record that nobody else has ever approached.
