The Rock On WWE Changing His Daughter’s Name

WWE made headlines when they hired Simone Johnson back in 2020. The Rock’s daughter then began training at the Performance Center. The Rock also commented on his daughter’s name change in WWE.

 The Rock’s daughter had previously gone under the knife on her knee. After recovering, Johnson also revealed her new ring name, as she was changed to Ava Raine.

This name change was met with a lot of negative backlash as well. In the end, fans simply accepted it for what it is. While speaking to Kerry Washington on the Jimmy Kimmel Show, The Rock talked about his daughter’s name change and how it came to be.

“She made her debut in WWE, their smaller federation, NXT. She did so good. She went out there on the microphone. You have to be poised when you go out there. She has a cool wrestling name, Ava Raine.

It comes from all different areas. It’s probably a mix of what she wanted to do, what she wanted to be called. Ultimately, what the powers that be want her to be called as well. She’s the first fourth generation of pro wrestler in WWE. I always like to say that Ava Raine could mean a lot of things, but in my mind, it means she’s going to lay the smackdown on candy asses.”

We’ll have to wait and see what she can do in the ring. Perhaps she truly does have a bright future ahead of her in WWE. Fans are certainly excited to see what she will be able to accomplish.
