Brad Pitt Loses Legal Battle Against Angelina Jolie Over French Winery

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s marriage was heavily scrutinized in 2016 after she filed for divorce after two years of marriage. Angelina, who has six children with Brad, filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences.” In their intensely emotional legal struggle for the Chateau Miraval winery, where they were married in 2014, Angelina Jolie defeated her former husband Brad Pitt.

Pitt has been working tirelessly on the stunning structures and gardens of the famed rosé company since since the couple moved into the chateau that sits on its Provençal vineyard in 2008. However, Pitt, Jolie, their individual firms, and several business partners became embroiled in a complex web of lawsuits in the US, France, and Luxembourg after Jolie sold her investment to the world’s largest producer of alcoholic beverages, Stoli.

In the most recent face-off, Jolie’s team served subpoenas on Pitt, his business manager, and his firm, Mondo Bongo, demanding papers. Pitt’s team has fought valiantly to have Jolie’s request for the documents and correspondence rejected by the court.

However, a judge in Los Angeles recently ruled that Pitt and his partners must give them to the opposing counsel and that they cannot even wait until they file an appeal. Page Six was informed by sources familiar with the “Maleficent” star’s business dealings that Pitt is allowing his rage over their bitter breakup get in the way of good business judgement.

Any rational human being would be happy for Stoli to [be a partner in their business. They have top-notch marketing and distribution. He just can’t see past his hatred of Jolie.

The Stoli transaction is not a no-brainer, according to a source close to Pitt, who also declined to sell it to Stoli while he and Jolie were still wed. They claimed that his long-standing objective for the project, which is to reinvest revenues in the firm, is at odds with the idea of selling a portion of the company in order to improve distribution. The six children’s parents divorced in 2016. Their relationship began in 2005. Their representatives declined to comment.
