Drake is one of the obscenely affluent celebrities who are receiving a lot of flak this week for their extravagant but really problematic private jet lifestyles. Kylie Jenner has recently been the target of an online backlash after flaunting her private jet on Instagram, a move that many have criticized as both tone-deaf and just plain awful. Now Drizzy is getting dragged for the same.

The Twitter account Celebrity Jets conducted a thorough investigation into the cosmetic guru and travels of the Kardashian siblings, revealing Jenner’s numerous flights throughout California, including one that lasted just three minutes. Private aircraft are massive emitters of CO2 into the atmosphere. It’s more reprehensible when celebrities use them for minute distances that could have been travelled by bus, train, or, in Jenner’s case, vehicle, even a taxi, maybe.

So let’s shed some light on Drake right now. Drizzy’s 767 Boeing “Air Drake” recently touched down in Hamilton from Toronto, according to Celebrity Jets, after a brief 14-minute flight. Four tons of CO2 emissions were produced during that 61-kilometer journey from Toronto, and the cost of the jet fuel was over $3,000.

It’s crucial to remember that a 767 is a huge aircraft with a 206-ton cargo capacity. Drake’s flight from Nice, France, to Toronto a few hours earlier was also recorded by the account. 155 tons of CO2 emissions and approximately $100,000 worth of gasoline were used during that eight-hour voyage from southern France.

Given that the average worldwide carbon footprint is roughly four tons, Drake’s flight of 15 minutes is comparable to an ordinary person’s annual personal emissions. Many people believe that private jet trips are not only stupid, but also simply unnecessary at a time when the bulk of the world is suffering with record-breaking heat waves, destructive wildfires, and massive flooding.
